How to organise outstanding major events and festivals
We have a fantastic tradition of organising a range of great major events and festivals. They are well thought of, entertaining and popular. This training course will give event managers with experience, the skills to deliver excellent major events and festivals.
This practical event management course is based on what event organisers do. It is participative, contains planning aids, group and individual exercises and is backed up by the tutors’ 20+ years’ experience of designing, planning and delivering arts, hot air balloon and sports events, fireworks displays, carnivals, craft, food and beer festivals, parties and concerts to name but a few! It is relevant to all types of major events and festivals – sports, arts, cultural, hobby, historical, countryside, music and themed events.

Objective: to give workshop delegates an overview of designing, planning and delivering a successful and safe festival or event. Part 1: The ‘how to’ of planning an outstanding festival or festival Part 2: Planning and delivering a safe festival and event: Wow what an event – a summary Anybody – with at least some event management experience, involved in organising, advising or sanctioning major events and festivals, for example Local Authority Events, Arts, Sports and Parks Officers, Venue Managers, Clubs and Associations, Town and Parish Councils and attractions. Examples of clients who have been on this course include: Chris Powell, the director of The Event Expert team, has been designing, planning and delivering events for over 20 years. He has been a local authority events manager and events director of a range of events and festivals, as well as helping a variety of organisations to deliver their events – as a freelance events manager. As an event management trainer and coach, Chris is engaged by a range of organisations and associations to deliver a variety of training courses for first-time events managers – right through to experienced events managers. With some 500 events successfully completed and over 5000 events managers trained, you could say that Chris knows a thing or two about how to deliver successful events! His events management experience covers arts and cultural events, music events, community and major festivals, sports events and business events.
