The Event Expert: Event Coaching Case Study
Andover-based marketing agency TWA thought that a city the size of Andover should have its own Business Expo – after all, everywhere else seemed to have one.
TWA conducted some informal research amongst the Andover business community who unanimously agreed that it was a great idea.
The concept of the event was to have one-day exhibition with an accompanying free seminar programme. The problem was that, while TWA were very experienced marketers, they didn’t have the event management expertise to design, plan and deliver the Expo – help was required. We got a call.
So, how did we help?
Having delivered exhibitions before, we met the TWA team to discuss their vision and expectations and, to gain a clear understanding of who we thought would exhibit and visit the Expo.
With the TWA team alongside us we set about writing a project plan, sourcing a suitable venue, seeking opportunities for partnership, preparing exhibitor packs and fee structures, determining sales messages, sourcing, contracting and liaising with contractors, helping to plan the visitor promotional strategy, setting up a visitor registration system, devising and delivering free seminar programme, key note speaker liaison, writing the event risk assessment and event managing the build, event and break down of the site.
The outcome
The second and third Andover Expos with my help attracted 50 exhibitors and over 700 visitors from the local business community. The free seminar programme of how to workshops and the key nore speak were well thought of and attended. Feedback has been universally positive and so planning for the next Andover Business Expo has already started!
